Without Trevor Noah, ‘The Daily Show’ will continue as usual.

The announcement by comedian Trevor Noah that he would be leaving his position as host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” late last week shocked the entire world. What happens next is a question that is raised.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that Comedy Central intends to carry on with its venerable chat show and parody newscast without Trevor Noah.

After Trevor Noah departs, it is anticipated that “The Daily Show” will continue on Comedy Central, despite some industry rumors to the contrary. After Noah departs, it may continue as an exclusive show on Paramount+.

Noah’s statement appears to have taken Comedy Central and the show’s team by surprise. According to THR’s sources, Comedy Central executive Chris McCarthy and the show’s employees were unaware of the departure until McCarthy made the announcement.

Additionally, McCarthy had lunch with Noah on the previous Wednesday (September 28), and it was said that Noah made no mention of announcing his departure the following day.

After seven years as the show’s host, Noah made a surprise statement last week that his tenure was coming to an end. The show’s social media pages also posted the footage there.

Additionally, THR notes that in June, Noah had extended his option to headline “The Daily Show” for an extra two years. He also had a contract option that would have let him remain the host through the 2024–2025 season. Staff members were astonished by his choice to quit for a second reason.

As per THR, negotiations with Noah about his final chapters and finish date are expected to start this week.McCarthy and Paramount officials will start talking about Noah’s upcoming replacement as host after they decide on his sign-off date.

The show’s “great correspondents,” according to a Comedy Central official who talked to THR, will be on the list of prospective replacements. So first, the broadcaster wants to recognize Noah for his work on “The Daily Show.”

Ronny Chieng, Desi Lydic, Roy Wood Jr., Michael Kosta, and Dulcé Sloan are a few of the current journalists who might be considered potential replacements.

The Departure of Trevor Noah

The reason for his choice, according to Noah’s announcement, was that he felt “like it’s time” to depart. He talked about how much he missed performing stand-up comedy and wanted to start traveling again, picking up “other languages,” seeing the world, and “just being everywhere doing everything.”

Noah said he would continue to be the host for “the time being” until all the details for his departure were ironed out. Noah reportedly wants to perform stand-up comedy on the road more frequently, according to THR.

Additionally, he will keep up the contract that his production firm, Day Zero, has with Paramount for a number of projects. Usually, his involvement in “The Daily Show” kept him from being further involved in the many other projects his production firm was working on.

In 2015, Noah becomes “The Daily Show’s” new host. Jon Stewart served as the program’s anchor from 1999 until 2015. The series’s initial host, Craig Kilborn, governed from 1996 until 1998.
