On Thursday, Queen Elizabeth celebrated her birthday with family and friends. She's 96 years old.

The Queen spent the day in a Sandringham Estate home that her late husband, Prince Philip, valued.

Her home is Windsor Castle, where she spends the majority of her time. Her guards played Happy Birthday to commemorate the event.

The queen is seen in a photograph produced to commemorate the occasion, standing between two fall ponies named Bybeck Nightingale and Bybeck Katie.

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee commemorates seven decades since her accession to the throne in 1952, making her the longest-reigning British monarch and the world's longest-serving female head of state.

Even the Queen of England has insecurities of her own. Queen Elizabeth II is said to have expressed her dissatisfaction with her children's divorces.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Catherine, used social media to wish the Queen a happy birthday.

The Queen also received birthday greetings from Charles, Prince of Wales, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall."Wishing Her Majesty The Queen a very special 96th birthday today, as we commemorate her Platinum Jubilee year," the couple wrote on Twitter.
