Travis Fimmel was born on July 15, 1979, in the Australian town of Echuca. In Lockington, he grew up on a dairy farm. He is the youngest of three sons born to Jennie, a disability recreation officer, and Chris, a cattle farmer.

At the age of 17, he traveled to Melbourne to play football for the St Kilda Football Club in the AFL. He attended RMIT University and majored in project management.

Travis Fimmel’s modeling career began when a Chadwick Models talent scout discovered him in a gym in Hawthorn, a Melbourne suburb.
He soon relocated to the United States to follow his vocation. Travis walked into the Los Angeles Models office in 2002, broke and barefoot, and was immediately signed.
He subsequently signed a six-figure contract to solely model for Calvin Klein for a year. He modeled for CK’s Crave men’s fragrance campaign as well as the brand’s well-known underwear.
