Career
Holmes started his career as a television host on KSNF Channel 16 in Joplin, Missouri. To personally give his resume and reel, he made the trip from the University of Arkansas campus. On the spot, they hired him.
Less than a year at KSNF saw Holmes work as a producer, assignment reporter, and weekend anchor.
To work as a general assignment correspondent for CBS affiliate KTHV in Little Rock in 2000, Holmes decided to return to his birthplace of Arkansas.
He was, nevertheless, promoted to weekend anchor in just a year. To take the anchor position for the 5 p.m. nightly news at KNTV, the NBC O&O station in the San Francisco Bay Area, he moved once more in 2003.
