Along with her husband Paul DiGiovanni, Katie Stevens traveled to the Country Music Association Awards, carrying some significant news.
The 29-year-old Bold Type actress and her songwriter husband made their first child’s impending arrival public on the red carpet.
In a blue Pamella Roland dress with gold embroidered accents and feathery and flowery appliqués, Stevens flaunted her expanding baby belly.
DiGiovanni could be seen supporting his pregnant wife as they posed for pictures, and she grinned broadly for the cameras.
After over six years of dating, the couple finally got married in 2019. Three years ago, the pair told PEOPLE about their touching celebration, where the guitarist for Boys Like Girls repeatedly surprised his bride.
“We danced for the first time to “I Will Always Be Yours” by Ben Rector. Before our first dance, Paul pleasantly surprised me by showing a video from Ben on the TV “Katie uttered.”Paul persuaded Ben to videotape himself singing our first dance song, and Ben complied. It really was very unusual.”
Since then, DiGiovanni and Stevens’ lives have continued to be noteworthy since Paul, who wrote the song “Buy Dirt” with Jordan Davis and Luke Bryan, has been nominated for Single of the Year.
Stevens told PEOPLE that her ties with castmates Meghann Fahy and Aisha Dee will endure even though The Bold Type ended after five seasons last year. “We said, “We’re going to be like Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, and Lisa Kudrow from Friends.” We will remain close buddies forever!”
The 2022 CMA Awards will be broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday.
