No longer a broken, aching heart. Just six months after the country musician and his former wife, singer Firehose, announced their separation and divorce after more than 28 years of marriage, Billy Ray Cyrus got engaged.
A picture of Billy, 61, and the “New Day” singer standing closely shows Firehose seemingly flashing a huge diamond ring on her left ring finger with the inscription “Happy Autumn.”
The “Old Town Road” singer and the musician from Australia initially ignited dating rumors earlier in July after Firehose uploaded a picture of the two in front of Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry, which many people interpreted as a sign of their relationship.
Billy and the “I Was on Fire” singer have been working together professionally for a while, thus the musicians are frequently featured on one other’s Instagram grids.
Firehose revealed how the two originally connected on the set of Hannah Montana, the popular Disney Channel sitcom starring Billy and Miley Cyrus’ daughter, during an interview on Live With Kelly & Ryan in August 2021.
They “actually met 10 years ago on the set of Hannah Montana,” according to the “All Figured Out” singer, who also happens to be the actress. Billy Ray has since been an amazing supporter of my music.
He just kept praising me and telling me that he had faith in me. to keep going for my objectives. Despite the challenges of the music industry, he has been a fantastic support.
Billy married Tish in December 1993, and the two separated for the third time in April. Although they later settled their issues, the pair initially filed for divorce in 2010. Tish filed for divorce once more in 2013, but at the time the couple appeared to have resolved their marital problems.
According to documents seen by In Touch, Tish filed for divorce in 2022 and stated that she and her ex-husband had not “cohabited as man and wife for a continuous duration of over two years. She gave the excuse of “irreconcilable conflicts.”
After a few days had passed, the couple announced their separation to the world, telling People in a statement that “we have grown up together, produced a family we can be very proud of, and it is now time to create our separate paths.”
We anticipate having a long and loving shared experience as friends and parents since we will always be family.
With so much going on in the world, we did not make this choice lightly or quickly, but we did want to offer some clarity and finality so that we might keep focusing on what is important.
