Nate Berkus was born Nathan Jay Berkus in Orange County, California, on September 17, 1971.
His mother, designer Nancy Golden, was instrumental in the formation of the Minnesota branch of the Independent Designers Association and has appeared on HGTV shows such as “Decorating Cents” and “Room for Change.”
Nate’s father, Michael A. Berkus was a co-founder of the National Sports Collectors Convention, a yearly trade expo.
Career
Nate Berkus established Nate Berkus Associates in 1995. He launched his book ‘House Rules: Change the Place You Live Into a Place You’ll Love’ in November 2005.
The next year, he began selling his products in Linens ‘n Things stores across North America. Berkus went on to anchor ‘Oprah’s Big Gift’ shortly after.
He began hosting his own syndicated show, ‘The Nate Berkus Show,’ in September 2010. The show was a success and lasted two years.
In January 2013, he debuted his fabric line at Calico Corners. The American celebrity began working on NBC’s primetime series ‘American Dream Builders the same year. Together with his husband, Jeremiah Brent, he debuted the TLC show ‘Nate & Jeremiah By Design in 2017.
