The youngest of Olive Grace and Charles Patrick Short’s five children, Martin Hayter Short is a well-known humorous actor. He was born on March 26, 1950, in Hamilton, Ontario. Mr. Martin Short
He and his siblings received a Catholic upbringing. Nora was his older sister, and he had three older brothers named David (who is now deceased), Michael, and Brian.
Short, then 12 years old, lost his older brother, David, in an automobile accident in Montréal in 1962. His mother passed away from cancer in 1968, and his father from complications following a stroke two years later.
From a very young age, Martin Short’s mother supported him in pursuing his creative goals. Short planned to apply for his social work degree after earning his degree from McMaster University, nevertheless.
That changed in 1971 when he received an invitation to appear in the play “Godspell.” Short has since made numerous theater and television appearances, especially in Canada.
