Satan himself would only appear to collect souls if a sequel was in the works. “Constantine” has returned.

Variety can confirm that Warner Bros. will produce a follow-up to Keanu Reeves’ supernatural action movie “Constantine,” which debuted in 2005. Francis Lawrence, who is most known for taking over the “Hunger Games” franchise after the first movie, and the blockbuster actor will reconnect.

A popular property in Hollywood, “Constantine” inspired an NBC series written by Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer, and more recently, J.J. Abrams’s Bad Robot Productions was developing a new series for HBO Max.

Even though the streamer had been in preliminary discussions with an actor for the starring part before the new movie came together, insiders tell Variety that the HBO Max series is now dead. For the newest adaption, which takes place in modern-day London, four scripts were prepared.

The “Madame X” series created by Angela Robinson is another Justice League Dark project that has been shelved. However, this does not imply that either series cannot be revived elsewhere.

According to sources, Warner Bros. Bad Robot and television are still very excited about both projects and anticipate finding new homes for them both.

We can only hope that this reunion will bring back Tilda Swinton and Peter Stormare’s and Tilda Swinton’s respective portrayals of Gabriel and the Devil. We’d be down if Gavin Rossdale also wants to come back.
