Artem Vladimirovich Chigvintsev was born in Izhevsk, Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, RSFSR, Soviet Union on June 12, 1982.
In Russia, he won various dance competitions. At the age of 15, he went to Germany for more training, followed by training in Italy and England.
Career
Artem Chigvintsev moved to America in 2003 and started dancing with champion ballroom dancer Giselle Peacock.
He competed in the first series of the dance competition show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ in 2005, where he reached the top eight male finalists before being eliminated.
He came back to the program in 2006 to choreograph the second season. He made an uncredited appearance as himself on “Dancing with the Stars” in 2009, and he danced with Nicole Scherzinger in the music video for ‘Hush Hush; Hush Hush’ by ‘The Pussycat Dolls.’
