In 1979, she published ‘The Feast of All Saints,’ a historical tale about people of mixed race who lived before the Civil War. In 1982, she published ‘Cry to Heaven,’ another historical fiction.
She began writing under the pen name A. N. Roquelaure wrote the ‘Sleeping Beauty Trilogy,’ a group of three pornographic novels that became immensely successful and eclipsed the popularity of her debut novel.
The publication of her novel ‘The Vampire Lestat’ in 1985 signaled her return to the gothic horror genre. The plot of the novel revolved around an impoverished aristocrat who transforms into an arrogant vampire.
“The Mayfair Witch Trilogy,” “The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy,” and the stand-alone novels “The Feast of All Saints” and “Servant of the Bones,” among many others, are among her other works.
